Agartala: The Congress has echoed the allegation of the two ruling coalition partners, the BJP and IPFT, that the CPI(M) workers has infiltrated into BJP and indulging in corrupt practices to defame the government.

Md Badrujjaman, president of the Unokoti District Congress Committee alleged that in all fronts the persons holding power and indulged in corruption during the Left Front regime are now doing the same thing under the protection of the BJP. Citing the instance of Latiapura Gao-Sabha he said the CPI(M) had own all the nine seats of the gao-sabha but immediately after the assembly election eight of them including the Pradhan and Upa-pradhan switched over their loyalty to IPFT.

Realizing that they have boarded into a wrong boat these members again shifted to the BJP after one month when the upa-pradhan and another one decided to join Congress. Now BJP is majority in the gao-sabha with all former CPM members. Badrujjaman said taking advantage of the new situation the former CPM activists under the garb of BJP has unleashed a massive corruption. He cited several instances where lakhs of rupees has been paid though the prescribed work was not done.

He said the Upa-pradhan of the gao-sabha and 16 others has submitted a specific allegation to the Block Development Officer but no action was taken. It may be recalled that the partners of the ruling coalition, the BJP and IPFT, also earlier alleged that CPI(M) workers has infiltrated into their parties and trying to defame the new government. Badrujjaman said overcoming the initial hiccups the BJP and CPI(M) workers has now become friends and partners in corruptions.
