Agartala: Oath taking of the newly elected members and various portfolio holders of the three tire-panchayats has been completed peacefully across the State though there were reports of dissidence over nomination for various posts among the BJP’s elected members.

Reports received from different parts of the state said the oath taking ceremony took place in a festive mood in most of the places as large number of people turned out to remain witness of the event. But mood turned sour in some of the places as many of the elected members resented against the nominations for various portfolios. The resentment took ugly turn in places like Kalachera block of Dharmanagar in North Tripura district, Satchand and Powangbari district of Subroom in South Tripura district and Bokafa block of Shantir Bazar. In all these places the elected members refused to accept the candidates nominated by the BJP state committee and openly revolted against. In all these places majority of the elected members rejected the party whip. In Dumduma they were so agitate that one of the members torn the whip issued by the party in presence of the local leaders. In all the places agitated members alleged that the nomination was done ignoring the local sentiment. However, a BJP state leader said the dissidence are due to local disputes and the matter is being looked after by senior leaders of the party.
