Tripura Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma Defends Abrogation of Article 370

Agartala: Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Debbarma strongly defended the Central Governments decision to abrogate Article 370 that provided special status to the State of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jishnu Debbarma said it is in conformity with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of one nation one flag. He said that Article 370 was a temporary arrangement and was standing in the way of Kashmir’s development. With the withdrawal of this article, this stumbling block has been removed and the State will now move towards development.

He was addressing a seminar in the Tripura University auditorium organized by Himalaya Pariwar on ‘nationalist India and the effect of Article 370. National leader of the Himalaya Pariwar Indresh Kumar, Secretary of the Ramkrishna Mission Swami Hitkamananda Maharaj, MLA Ram Prashad Pal also was present in the seminar. The Deputy Chief Minister said that BJP is the only nationalist party in the country that never believes in cast, creed or religion.
