Agartala: Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu praised the state government for its proactive measures in fostering peace and driving economic growth during his address at the Tripura Assembly's first session of 2025.

He highlighted the state's achievements in alignment with Central Government initiatives and commended efforts to enhance revenue collection, which has significantly contributed to Tripura's financial progress.

The Governor emphasized the state’s commitment to inclusive development, reflecting the ethos of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” He noted advancements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, and indigenous community welfare, crediting the central government’s support and strong state leadership.

He lauded Tripura’s initiatives in poverty alleviation, skill development, and empowering marginalized communities, including women and indigenous groups, fostering an equitable society.

Highlighting peace-building efforts, the Governor mentioned the historic tripartite agreement of March 2024 between the Indian government, Tripura government, and Tipra Motha Party, aimed at addressing indigenous issues.

Additionally, the peace accord with the banned NLFT and ATTF insurgent groups in September 2024 dismantled these groups, integrating them into the mainstream. A Rs 250 crore package was approved for indigenous community development under these agreements.

He also appreciated the resolution of the displaced Bru settlement issue through a quadripartite agreement, which provided land, housing, financial support, and improved infrastructure for resettlement areas.

The Governor expressed condolences for the August 2024 flood victims, acknowledging the government’s swift response with financial aid and relief efforts in collaboration with the Indian Air Force and local volunteers.

Applauding the state’s revenue collection of Rs 1005 crore in GST, Rs 307 crore in VAT, and Rs 231 crore in excise duties for 2024-25, the Governor called for continued unity among legislators to build a prosperous and self-reliant Tripura.
