Agartala: A tragic traffic accident occurred on Thursday in Bishalgarh, where an M-Tech student from NIT, Agartala, died on spot in a by-pass area of the subdivisional town.
According to police sources, Aradhya Acharjee, a 24-year-old popular musician and M-Tech student at NIT, Agartala, was riding his two-wheeler back to Agartala after visiting the Dumbur area.
As Aradhya approached the Bishalgarh bypass route at approximately 11:00 AM, a truck struck his bike from behind. Aradhya practically flew off the bike during the collision and hit the road with a loud thud, severely injuring the back of his skull.
Despite the truck driver's escape, the locals, assisted by the police and Fire Brigade, moved the unconscious Aradhya to the Bishalgarh hospital, where the attending doctor declared him "brought dead."
After being notified, Aradhya's father, Alakesh Acharjee, who lived in the Lake Chaumuhuni neighbourhood of Agartala, hurried to Bishalgarh hospital and wept upon seeing the lifeless body of his only child.
Alakesh revealed that his only son Aradhya was his only hope in life and that his wife had died around two years ago. He went on to say that Aradhya was a skilled guitarist who enjoyed riding his motorbike, which ultimately led to his demise.
