Tripura woman assaulted by local group over alleged abuse of husband and elderly in-laws

AGARTALA: A woman was allegedly thrashed by a group of local women in the Bhuiyar Matha area under Bishalgarh Police Station following allegations that she had physically and mentally harassed her husband and elderly in-laws.

The woman, identified as Jhuton Das, allegedly subjected her husband, Kamal Das, and other family members to continuous physical and mental harassment. According to local residents, she frequently quarrelled over trivial matters and routinely threatened to implicate her husband and in-laws in false police cases. Residents alleged that, after tolerating her behaviour for a long time, local women lost patience on Wednesday morning. A group of women allegedly assaulted her, triggering tension and attracting the attention of people in the locality.
