AGARTALA: A wave of grief swept through Tripura’s Subhash Nagar Naha Para on Monday after the body of a 19-year-old youth was discovered hanging in his home. The deceased, identified as Suman Sarkar, allegedly died by suicide following a dispute with his girlfriend, according to his family.

The tragic incident has left the local community in shock. Upon receiving the report, police officials rushed to the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for autopsy. “The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination,” a police officer stated.

Suman’s family says he was in a long-term relationship and was very upset after arguing with his girlfriend the night before. They believe this may have led him to take a drastic step. However, the authorities have filed a case of unnatural death and started an investigation.

Meanwhile, a student appearing for the HS Final Examination had allegedly committed suicide at her rented house in Dibrugarh on Friday. The girl had been a student of Salt Brook Academy, Dibrugarh.

According to police, she had been found hanging at her rented house after her HS Final Physics paper had not been up to the mark. “She had been living with her mother at the rented house. After the incident, her mother had broken the door and taken her to Aditya Hospital, where the doctors had declared her dead,” said a police official.

The incident had created a pall of gloom in the entire area. After the postmortem, her body had been handed over to her guardians.
