AGARTALA: Kumarghat, which became a separate sub-division 12 years back, is finally getting a permanent Sub-Divisional Office. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha will virtually lay the foundation stone for the Rs. 20 crore project on January 28. The sub-division covers Pabiacherra, Fatikroy, and parts of Petcherthal.
Currently, the office operates from the Deo Tourist Lodge, which faces issues pertaining to its size. Local residents had long demanded a dedicated office, and authorities took special efforts to address the need.
On the same day, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate the new building of Petcherthal Primary Health Centre.
Meanwhile, Tripura's Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma announced that over 150 investors are expected at the two-day Destination Tripura Business Conclave, starting February 7 at Hotel Polo Tower.
With invitations extended to 170 investors, the conclave aims to attract investment in key sectors like healthcare, agriculture, bamboo, agar, rubber, IT, skill development, and food processing. The event will conclude with the signing of memorandums of understanding (MOUs) to boost economic growth.
The Minister also unveiled the schedule for the Industries and Commerce Fair, which will run from January 29 to February 12. This year’s fair has expanded to include 337 local businesses and 515 stalls, compared to 269 businesses last year. The 2023 fair achieved sales of Rs. 6.28 crore, and higher participation is anticipated this time.
These initiatives highlight Tripura’s focus on fostering business growth and strengthening its economic prospects.
