Agartala: Preparation for the Diwali Mela at Tripureswari Temple in Matabari, Tripura is going on in full swing as the organizing committee has started distributing coupons among the traders who want to open shops in the Mela ground. It is learnt that thousands of prospective traders have already collected coupons at the rate of Rs 50 each.
Aniruddha Roy, Sub-divisional Magistrate and member of the mela committee told reporters that a total of 750 stalls will be there in the seven blocks of the mela ground. He said five counters have been opened for selling of coupons which will remain open till October 19.
He said the stalls will be distributed through lottery which will be held on October 20 in the Tripureswari Temple premises. He said persons winning the lottery will be allotted stalls in the mela ground and it is non-transferable.The mela committee is expecting that this time more people will turn up in the mela compared to previous years.
