Agartala: Ahead of the Delhi Abhiyan in demand of Greater
Tipraland, the TIPRA Women Federation (TWF), the women wing of the TTAADC ruling
TIPRA Motha held a bike and scooty rally at ADC headquarters Khumulwng on
Monday.
The motive of the rally is to give a strong message that women activists of the TIPRA Motha are also extending their full support to the cause of "Greater Tipraland''.
The rally started from Khumulwng that later covered Dasharam, Belbari, Jampuijala, Takarjala and parts of Jirania. Thousands of women joined the rally and heard shouting slogans demanding greater Tipraland. The rally is being seen as a prelude to the party's main agitation scheduled to be held at New Delhi on October 24 next.
A total of 1,200 party supporters are set to leave for the national capital to join the programme. The women supporters urged the locals to ensure that their fight for right in Delhi turns out to be a successful campaign for the party.
The royal scion and Chairman of TIPRA Pradyot on his Twitter wrote, "For the first time an all women bike rally in Tripura . I am so proud that our Tipra Womens federation has become the torch bearer of our movement . This generation of Tiprasa women will spearhead our movement #DelhiAbhiyan #Thansa #OneLastFight".
On the other hand, Youth Tipra Federation, the youth wing of
the party has also decided to organise big public gatherings on October 28 and
29. A preparatory meeting was held at Khumulwng on Monday to strategize for the
meetings just after their "Delhi Abhiyan".
