Ghulam Rasul Khan, a senior citizen and an inhabitant of Tangla Tinali locality of Tangla town in Udalguri district left for his heavenly abode on December 24 at his residence. He was 90. His janaza was performed in Banseria Kabarastan. Born to a Pashtun family near Kabul of Afghanistan he migrated with his father in his youthood days and married in 1964 at Rangia and later settled in Tangla. A devotedly honest with tall, well built physique and rugged face he was a prominent face in the town and was in traditional money lending business in his early days and one of the last surviving Pashtun descendant of  Tangla town. He was also associated with various religious institutions and organisations and was loved and respected by all for his amicable disposition. He is survived by his two daughters, grandsons, grand daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers. Various organizations and individuals including Assam BJP Minority Morcha President, Santiuse Kujur, Tangla Bara Masjid, Banseria Jame Masjid, Tangla Media Circle have condoled his demise and offered deep condolences to the bereaved family members.
