OBITUARY Golap Kumar Das

Golap Kumar Das, a retired managing director of Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Ltd (AEGCL) and a resident of Kahilipara Guwahati, breathed his last on April 30 in a private hospital. He was 68. Born near Auniati Satra, Majuli, he completed his schooling in Jorhat before joining Assam Engineering College, Guwahati. He was a good football player and an athlete during his school days. He started his career in the undivided ASEB and rose to the position of Managing Director, AEGCL by virtue of his extraordinary calibre, sincerity and good work. He was very supportive of his colleagues. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, and many relatives and well-wishers.
