Indian Flapshell Turtle rescued in Biswanath

Acting on a tip-off, the forest officials at West Forest Range under Biswanath Forest Divsion rescued one Indian flapshell Turtle on Wednesday and arrested one in connection to the incident.

The arrested person was identified as Kandarpa Bora, a resident of Nagaon's Juria area.

It is to be noted that Indian Flapshell turtle is protected under Schedule I of Indian Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
