GUWAHATI: Day four of the 33rd Jorhat Open Tennis Tournament witnessed as many as four major upsets in the Boys’ and Girls’ Under-18 Singles events.

In the Boys’ Under-18 singles quarterfinals, unseeded Prashantdeep Borah of NRL stunned third seed Raynard P.B. Kashyap (NRL) with a hard-fought 6-3, 7-6 (6) victory. Another surprise saw unseeded Anoy Sharma of Sivasagar overpower sixth seed Anchit Dutta of NRL 6-3, 6-0.

The Girls’ Under-18 singles also saw dramatic results, as unseeded Devanshi Tamuly of Golaghat upset second seed Priyanka Priyadarshini of Guwahati 6-1, 6-3. In another quarterfinal, unseeded Mrigakshee Changmai of Guwahati defeated fourth seed Sanskriti Saurav Borah of Jorhat 6-3, 6-1.
