GUWAHATI: Assam is gearing up to compete in the upcoming Khelo India Youth Games, scheduled to be held in Bihar and Delhi starting May 4. In preparation, the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare has organized an intensive training camp for the state's athletes, currently underway at the Sarusajai Sports Complex. The first batch of the Assam contingent is set to depart from Guwahati on May 2. Naba Basumatary, Assistant Director of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, has been appointed as the chef de mission for the team. It may be mentioned here that the upcoming edition of the Khelo India Youth Games will feature 17 sporting disciplines and will be held simultaneously in Delhi and Bihar.
