
Dubai: French qualifier Quentin Halys edged out Italian lucky loser Luca Nardi 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (5) to reach the last four of the Dubai Open at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Thursday. Halys, ranked No 77, will play Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime next. Auger-Aliassime beat Marin Cilic 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 in another quarterfinal today.
Ahead of his victory, the Frenchman edged out Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 3 seed (3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5)) and won against Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut (7-6 (5), 6-4).
Moreover, Tallon Griekspoor stunned top seed Daniil Medvedev 2-6, 7-6 (7), 7-5 to reach the last four stage. Agencies
