
NEW DELHI: India’s Lakshya Sen bowed out of the Indonesia Masters 2025 after losing to Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto 16-21, 21-12, 21-23 in the Round of 16 on Thursday. After conceding the lead by losing the first game 16-21, Lakshya did well to restore parity in the second game, winning it 21-12. The third game was tightly contested throughout, but the Japanese shuttler ultimately prevailed, clinching it 23-21.
Nishimoto will next face Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie in the quarterfinals.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, World No. 3 pair in men’s doubles, went down 20-22, 21-23 to the Thai duo of Kittinupong Kedren and Dechapol Puavaranukroh. The Indian duo had three game points in the first game and two in the second but failed to convert any of the five opportunities.
The mixed doubles pair of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto was beaten by Malaysia’s Cheng Su Yin and Hoo Pang Ron 21-18, 15-21, 10-21. Agencies
