GUWAHATI: A brilliant all-round performance by Aman Yadav helped President XI to take control on the opening day of the RG Baruah U-16 Cricket Tournament at Nehru Stadium here today.
Aman was the star with the ball, claiming seven wickets for 68 runs in 19 overs, as Guwahati were bowled out for 151 after electing to bat first. Manas Gupta (36) and Nihar Baishya (30) were the only notable contributors for Guwahati.
In reply, President XI ended the day at 101 for 4, trailing by just 50 runs with six wickets in hand. Aman continued his fine form with the bat, scoring a valuable 38, while Mrinmoy Das chipped in with 32.
