GUWAHATI: Last year’s runners-up, Barekuri FC, opened their campaign in the Guwahati Premier League Football with a goalless draw against Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL). The match, played at Judges Field on Tuesday, saw both sides struggling to capitalize on their chances, resulting in a stalemate.

In the day’s other fixture at the same venue, Pride East Mavericks clinched a 2-1 victory over NorthEast United FC. NEUFC made an explosive start with Gunleiba scoring within the opening minute. However, Pride East Mavericks responded swiftly, with Jwmbla Brahma netting the equalizer in the 7th minute. Amit Thakuri sealed the win for Mavericks in the 15th minute with a decisive goal.
