GUWAHATI: Bud Cricket Club began their campaign in the 7th Assam Premier Club Cricket Championship with a commanding six-wicket victory over City Cricket Club at Jagiroad on Sunday.

Chasing a target of 136, Bud Cricket Club reached the finish line in 28.2 overs, losing four wickets in the process. Jitu Ali anchored the chase with a composed knock of 67 runs off 85 balls, which included seven boundaries. Nibir Deka added a valuable 25 runs to the total.

Earlier, City Cricket Club, invited to bat first, were bowled out for 135 in 38.1 overs. Nipan Deka was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets for 12 runs. Abu Nechim Ahmed and Jitu Ali also contributed with the ball, picking up two wickets each. For City Cricket Club, Mayukh Hazarika (26) and Pankaj Rai (23 not out) were the key scorers.

Monday’s Match: Gauhati Town Club vs Navarang Club.
