GUWAHATI: The 2nd AATA-NETF Junior Tennis Championship concluded today at the AATA complex in the city. Phaagun Jyoti of AATA complex won the double crown by winning the girls under-12 singles title and the under 14 years mixed doubles title. While in the boy’s event Parthiv Kalita of NETF also won the double crown by winning the boys under-18 singles title and the under-18 mixed doubles title. In a brief prize distribution ceremony D K Mittal, Executive Director, Sports Authority of India, Regional Centre, Guwahati graced the occasion as the chief guest and distributed the trophies and the certificates.
RESULTS: Boy’s singles U-10: Mohijith Boro Beat M. Nivaan 4-1, 4-1. Boy’s singles U-12: Souvit Kausik Borthakur Beat Krishav Das 4-6, 6-4, 10-6. Boy’s singles U-18: Parthiv Kalita Beat Arnav Kumar Bhuyan 6-3, 6-4. Girl’s singles U-12 Phaagun Jyoti Beat Risha Begum 6-0, 6-0, Girl’s singles U-14: Suzainne Lourembam Beat Phaagun Jyoti 7-5, 6-3. Girl’s singles U-18: Debasmita Roy Beat Sheevali Gogoi 6-1, 6-2. Mixed Doubles U-14: Ayyan Rehman / Phaagun Jyoti Beat Nishant Das / Risha Begum 6-0, 6-0. Mixed Doubles U-18: Parthiv Kalita / Suzainne Lourembam Beat Enrich Patar / Sheevali Gogoi 6-4, 6-2.
