Early start of Syed Mushtaq Ali Cricket tournament

GUWAHATI: ACA Stadium, Barsapara will host 10 matches of the forthcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Cricket tournament while Nehru stadium will be the venue for the five other group matches. There would be altogether three matches on each day and two of them would be held at the ACA stadium. The first game will start early in the morning.

Assam Cricket Association will host the matches of Elite Group 'B' and the teams in this group are Mumbai, Bengal, Karnataka, Services, Chhatisgarh and Baroda. In the opening game Bengal will take on Chhatisgarh on Thursday and the game will begin at 8-00 AM. On the same day and same venue Karnataka will face Mumbai from 12-30 PM. The other match will be played between Baroda and Services at the Nehru stadium from 12-30PM. No spectators would be allowed in the ground as all the games would be held behind closed doors because of COVID-19 restriction.

Meanwhile Assam will also start their campaign in the competition on Thursday in Delhi against Madhya Pradesh. The other teams in the Assam group are: Gujarat, Bihar, Kerala and Railways. Among the five group matches Assam will play two games in the morning and the kick off time of those matches are 8-30 AM. The starting time of the other three matches is 1PM.
