GUWAHATI: Bud Cricket Club and 91 Yards Club stormed into the final of the GTC Men’s Summer Challenge T20 Trophy after registering impressive victories in their respective semi-final matches held at Judges Field on Wednesday.

In the first semi-final, Bud Cricket Club defeated Navajyoti Club by three wickets in a closely contested encounter. Navajyoti, batting first, posted 145 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Hrishikesh Tamuli (31), Kuldeep Pegu (29), and Raj Agarwal (24) were the chief contributors, while Bud’s Kaushik Giri returned with figures of 3 for 20.

In reply, Bud Cricket Club chased down the target in 18.3 overs, finishing at 148 for 7. Ayusman Malakar top-scored with 10 balls 38 (4X1, 6X5), supported by Jitu Ali (22). Despite Rituraj Biswas picking up 3 for 27, Bud held their nerve to seal a place in the final.

The second semi-final saw 91 Yards Club secure a 23-run victory over Gauhati Town Club. Batting first, 91 Yards Club posted 162 for 9, anchored by a solid 54 (37 balls, 4X3, 6X3) from Parvej Musaraf and a fluent 40 )27 balls, 4X4. 6X2) from Kunal Sharma. Nishchay Sharma impressed with the ball for GTC, claiming 3 for 20.

In response, Gauhati Town Club could only manage 139 for 8. Sumit Kashyap fought hard with a 57 (46 balls, 4X4, 6X3)-run knock, but disciplined bowling from Kunal Sarma (2 for 33) and Reshabh Dipak (2 for 28) ensured 91 Yards booked their place in the final.

The title clash between Bud Cricket Club and 91 Yards Club will be held on Thursday at Judges Field.
