GUWAHATI: Guwahati Giants emerged victorious in the final of the 1st GTC Men's Spring T-20 Cup 2025, defeating 91 Yards Club by 37 runs at the Judges’ Field in Guwahati on Saturday.
In the final, 91 Yards Club won the toss and elected to field. Guwahati Giants, batting first, posted an impressive total of 192 for 9 in 20 overs, thanks to vital contributions from Asif Washimul Haque (38), Vipin Chandra (38), Siddhartha Sankar Baruah (30), and Rajjakuddin Ahmed (30). In reply, 91 Yards Club managed 155 for 9 in 20 overs, falling short despite a spirited 49 off 24 balls by Vipul Kamboj and a steady 45 from Abhishek Kaushal. Vipin Chandra starred with both bat and ball for the Giants, taking 3 wickets for 31 runs and scoring a crucial 38 runs, earning him the Man of the Match (Final) award. The closing ceremony was graced by Shankar Dutta Lahkar, former First-Class cricketer and Vice President of GTC, Tonmoy Jyoti Mahanta, Senior Advocate at Gauhati High Court and Vice President of GTC, Dr Pranab Bhattacharya, former State cricketer, Nasir Gul Khan, former First-Class cricketer and Sports Secretary, Cricket at GSA and others.
