GUWAHATI: Media Management successfully defended their TOPCEM-ASJA Inter-Media Cricket title, defeating Assam Sports Journalists’ Association (ASJA) by 31 runs in a repeat of last year’s final at Nehru Stadium today.  The match's star performer was Ranjit Changmai, who played an unbeaten knock of 84 runs.

After opting to bat first, Media Management posted a formidable total of 169 for 4 in their 20 overs, despite an early collapse that saw them lose three quick wickets. Ranjit Changmai turned the game around with a stunning innings, taking just 56 balls to score his 84 runs, including 11 boundaries and a six. He received valuable support from Amit Das, who contributed a brisk 58 off 41 balls, studded with nine fours.

In response, ASJA showed resilience, led by Nabajyoti Talukdar, who mounted a brave counterattack. Talukdar scored a fluent 65 off 52 balls, hitting eight boundaries and one six. However, his efforts fell short as ASJA managed only 138-8, falling behind by 31. Rajdeep Das chipped in with 21 runs, but the target proved too steep.

Media Management's bowling attack was spearheaded by Binay Basfor, who claimed 3 wickets for 19 runs, while Abuddin Khan delivered a tidy spell, taking 2 wickets for just 14 runs.
