Shreyasi, Urbijit Bag Four Golds Each at Assam Shooting Championship

GUWAHATI: Shreyasi Majumder and Urbijit Medhi won four gold medals each in the 20th All Assam State Shooting Championship that concluded at the Kahilipara Shooting Range here today.  Shreyasi won the top medals (gold) in the 50m rifle three position youth, junior and women’s events and women’s 10m air rifle events respectively.  Urbijit won the gold medals in the men’s 10m air rifle and 25m pistol youth, sub-junior and junior categories respectively.  The event was organized by the Assam Rifle and Shooting Association.  Three shooters bagged three gold each and they were Sristi Baruah (won gold in the girls’ 10m air pistol sub-junior, youth and junior categories),  Shubhakanksha Nayan (won the women’s 25m standard pistol sub-junior, 25m standard pistol women’s and junior categories) and Udipta Nayan Dutta (won the 10m air rifle sub-youth, youth and junior categories).  The shooters who won double crowns in the tournament were Shibli Handique, Himashree Kalita, Dishant Dey and Pragyan Manash Das.  Other gold medalists are Nijel Habib, Chandim Pran Baruah, Preeti Rekha Devi, Neeraj Bora, Barnali Kalita, Munindra Das, Jitu Sarma, Ruby Ansari, Jugen Buragohain, Dhritisman Kalita, Shhaurya Sharrma, Ananta Gogoi, Utkarsh Agarwala and Nayanmoni Gohain respectively 

Retired Director of Police and Chief Information Commissioner of State Bhaskar Jyoti Mohanty, Guwahati Commissioner of Police Parth Sarathi Mahanta, Diganta Borah, President, ARSA, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare  Ankur Bharali attended the closing ceremony and also handed over the awards.
