GUWAHATI: Sporting United Club emerged champion in the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA) Inter-Club Hockey Championship 2024–25, securing a dominant 5–0 win over Dynamo Club in the final at Md. Tayabullah Hockey Stadium, Bhetapara in the city on Saturday.

Bhawani Sharma of Sporting United was named Player of the Final for his exceptional performance, while Hemanta Barthakur was awarded Player of the Tournament for his consistent and standout displays throughout the competition. Ritik Patir, also from Sporting United, took home the Top Scorer award, showcasing his remarkable goal-scoring prowess.

The closing ceremony was honored by the presence of Assam Hockey General Secretary Tapan Das, who was the Chief Guest, alongside former national hockey players Piyoli Khaklary and Jula Deka Rahman, who attended as Guests of Honour.

In a bid to foster the growth of grassroots hockey, Assam Hockey also donated hockey sticks and balls to the Guwahati Sports Association as part of the event’s concluding celebrations.
