GUWAHATI: The sale of tickets for Rajasthan Royals’ first home match of the upcoming IPL season against Kolkata Knight Riders in Guwahati began on Thursday via BookMyShow. Tickets for the highly anticipated clash against Chennai Super Kings will be launched later this month.
Cricket fans can secure their tickets starting at Rs 1,600, while Rajasthan Royals have introduced a special Rs 500 ticket category for young fans and students.
Rajasthan Royals are making a much-anticipated return to Assam for TATA IPL 2025, reaffirming their commitment to fostering cricket’s growth and strengthening their deep-rooted connection with passionate fans in the Northeast. Led by Sanju Samson, the Royals will play two marquee fixtures at the ACA Stadium in Guwahati—facing Kolkata Knight Riders on March 26 and Chennai Super Kings on March 30.
Speaking to the media in Guwahati on Thursday, Rahul Dravid, Head Coach of Rajasthan Royals, shared insights on the pre-season camp currently underway: “We are working on various aspects of our game, focusing on both physical conditioning and strategic planning to ensure we are in peak shape for the 2025 IPL season. The squad is motivated and excited, and we look forward to making the most of our time here in Guwahati. The support from the Assam Cricket Association has been phenomenal.”
Jake Lush McCrum, CEO of Rajasthan Royals, expressed his excitement about the team’s return to Guwahati: “We are thrilled to bring the IPL experience back to the Northeast for the third consecutive year, reinforcing our commitment to growing the game and engaging with our passionate fanbase in Assam. The excitement for cricket in this region is incredible, and with two massive matches against Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings, we look forward to creating unforgettable moments at ACA Stadium in Guwahati.”
Meanwhile Taranga Gogoi, President of the Assam Cricket Association, and Tridib Konwar, the association’s secretary, also attended the media briefing. Gogoi highlighted the significance of hosting IPL matches in the region: “Having Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati once again is a moment of pride for Assam Cricket Association and the entire Northeast. The IPL has played a significant role in inspiring young cricketers and bringing world-class cricket to this region.”
