GUWAHATI: We R North East secured a dominant 94-run victory over Elite Cricket Academy in the second semifinal of the 10th Sitaram Chhawchharia Memorial U-19 Cricket Tournament, held at the NFRSA Ground in Maligaon on Friday. With this win, they booked a spot in the final, where they will face Tiranga Cricket Coaching Centre on Saturday.
Invited to bat first, We R North East posted a strong total of 228 runs in 49.5 overs. Reyan Nandey led the charge with a composed 54 off 94 balls, hitting five boundaries. Jyotisman Bhattacharjee (38 off 75, 2 fours and a six) and Aditya Roy Chowdhury (32 off 57, 4 fours) also played key roles in building the innings. For Elite Cricket Academy, Devyanksh Agarwal claimed 3 wickets for 45 runs, while Pranjal Paul took 2 for 32.
In reply, Elite Cricket Academy were bowled out for 134 in just 32 overs, falling well short of the target. Despite a valiant 52 off 44 balls from Dipumoni Bardoloi, which included two fours and three sixes, the rest of the batting order crumbled. Manish Mahato (4/43) and Bhim Chetri (3/25) were the chief destroyers, sharing seven wickets between them to seal the convincing win.
