Moeen Ali tests positive in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO: England all-rounder Moeen Ali has tested positive for Covid-19 upon arrival with the English cricket team in Sri Lanka.

"Following PCR tests administered on arrival at the airport in Hambantota on Sunday, January 3, the England and Wales Cricket Board can confirm that Moeen Ali has tested positive for Covid-19. Ali will now observe a period of 10-days self-isolation, in accordance with the Sri Lanka Government's protocol on quarantine," said an official statement from the ECB.

The statement added that Chris Woakes will be kept under observation for coming in possible contact with Ali. IANS
