RIO DE JANEIRO: Palmeiras scored three second-half goals to secure a 3-0 victory at Juventude in Brazil's Serie A championship on Wednesday. William Matheus gifted the visitors the lead by turning the ball into his own net in the 53rd minute before Deyverson and Breno Lopes struck as Palmeiras cruised to their second league win of the season. Abel Ferreira's men are now fifth in the 20-team standings, two points behind leaders Fortaleza, who have a game in hand. Juventude, who were promoted from the Serie B in December, are 16th with two draws and two losses from their four matches so far.
