Premier League 2026-27 season to start on August 22

LONDON: The Premier League’s 2026-27 season will begin on August 22 and run through May 30, 2027, concluding a week before the Champions League final, the league announced on Friday. The campaign will comprise 33 weekends and five midweek rounds. It will start a week later than usual to allow recovery time following the expanded World Cup, which ends on July 19. IANS
