India Club storm into semis in the 68th Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament

Guwahati: India Club, Silchar stormed into the semifinal from Group 'A' in the 68th Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament drawing their tie against Gauhati Town Club 2-2 at Judges' Field. India Club conceded an own goal by V Sashikumar in the 5th minute of the game and was trailing by that goal in the lemon break. However their talisman and tournament top scorer V Vignesh scored twice (52nd minute and 72nd minute) in the game to ensure a single point which was enough for the side to move into the semi final. Pingkul Basumatary (59th minute) scored the other goal for Gauhati Town Club.

India club collected seven points from their three outings and ensured a berth in the semi final as a group topper. The last Group 'A' matches between ASEBSC and ITBP will be held tomorrow at the Nehru Stadium.

At Sipajhar CISF in a group 'C' match thrashed Bodousa Club by 5-0 Rajeedp Singh (2), Shakti Nath Oraon, Maninder singh Negi and Md Fhaleed were the scorers in the game.

Meanwhile United Chirang Duar FC took a vital step towards Semis from group 'D' as they defeated favourite Shillong Lajong FC by a solitary goal at Chirang today. T A Vailland scored the solitary goal of the match.
