Assam: BTC CEM Pramod Boro Lays Foundation of Bodoland Happiness Mission

KOKRAJHAR: Synchronising with the celebration of the 76th Republic Day in Kokrajhar, the CEM of BTC, Pramod Boro, laid the foundation stones of the office of the Bodoland Happiness Mission, Mission Director of Bodofa Livelihood Mission, and central UPPL in Kokrajhar and inaugurated the new building of Maibong House at Tengapara in Kokrajhar. He also laid the foundation stone for the infrastructure development of Bodofa House (Central ABSU office), Baganshali, in the heart of Kokrajhar town.

Boro said, “Inspired by the life and ideals of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma, we at BTR aim to make our citizens self-sustainable by helping them earn a livelihood while ensuring their happiness and holistic well-being. To that end, the office of the Bodoland Happiness Mission and the office of the Mission Director of the Bodofa Livelihood Mission are laid in Kokrajhar”. He also laid the foundation stone for the infrastructure development of Bodofa House at Bagansali in Kokrajhar, which is being undertaken by the Department of Welfare of Plains Tribes and Backward Classes, BTC. As part of the Republic Day celebrations, he inaugurated the new building of Maibong House, which stands as a testament to their commitment to empower people from all tribes and communities. The programmes were joined by MLA Lawrence Islary, ABSU president Dipen Boro, and several dignitaries.

On the auspicious occasion of the 76th Republic Day, Boro laid the foundation stone for the construction of UPPL’s central office, which is going to come up near the new flyover in Kokrajhar. He said the new office of the UPPL will embody UPPL’s founding principles and unwavering commitment to the ideals enshrined in the constitution.

In yet another step forward with a mission to promote the vibrant tribal culture of BTR, the CEM of BTC laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Tribal Emporium-cum-Food Court at Bajwi Bazar, Shamthaibari, in the Chirang district on Saturday. The programme was joined by EM Saikhong Basumatary on the occasion.
