KOKRAJHAR: The Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in Assam has unveiled its Vision Document, a strategic initiative designed to foster inclusivity and preserve the unique identity of every community within the region.

The document underscores the administration’s commitment to justice, equality, and cultural preservation, addressing concerns about the marginalization of certain communities and their struggle to sustain their identity, language, and traditions.

Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council, Pramod Boro, highlighted the Vision Document as a proactive measure to ensure that the rights of all communities are safeguarded. The initiative emphasizes actionable strategies for government functionaries to address grievances and promote equitable development.

This dual-faceted approach not only outlines targeted activities for specific communities but also provides a comprehensive roadmap for administrative efforts. The Vision Document aims to empower marginalized groups, promote harmonious coexistence, and create a framework for inclusive governance in the region.

Boro also reflected on his extensive experience as a social activist, observing the challenges faced by underprivileged groups in BTR, Assam, and across Northeast India. He noted that historical neglect and lack of representation often led to frustration, deprivation, and, in some cases, agitation and armed movements.

The Vision Document incorporates a holistic approach to development, recognizing the need for robust infrastructure and tailored initiatives to address the aspirations of various communities. It marks a significant step toward addressing longstanding challenges and setting a roadmap for sustainable growth and community empowerment in the BTR.
