Silchar: Cachar police had seized huge quantity of Yaba tablets worth Rs 6 crores. The SSP Numol Mahatta informed that in the wee hours of Monday,  Cachar Police  launched a special operation against the illegal transportation of narcotic substance at the Ghungoor Bye Pass on Silchar - Aizwal  road. The police team intercepted one vehicle and apprehended two persons. The arrested persons were identified as Injamul Hoque Laskar, 24, Of  Sonai and  Hussain Ahmed Borbhuyan of Dholai. Mahatta further said that the police team recovered 20,000  Yaba tablets  concealed inside specially made chambers in the the vehicle.The price of the psychotropic substances is worth about Rs.6  crores in the black market, the SSP claimed.During the examination conducted at the place of occurrence,drug detection kit showed positive results for metamphetamine. The psychotropic substance has been illegally transported from Aizwal, Mizoram, Mahatta added.
