SIVASAGAR: Farmers from the Nitaipukhuri-based Dihingporia Mustard Fed Producer Company, Disangmukh Agro Producer Company, and Mitong Krishak Utpadak Company in Sivasagar district have exported 1,000 kilograms of lemons and 1,500 kilograms of pumpkins to the Dubai market on Thursday. The export arrangements were made under the aegis of the Sivasagar District Administration and the District Agriculture Department.
After receiving significant appreciation in the local market for their produce, these farmer producer companies have now taken this step toward exporting their goods internationally.
The event, organized to mark this occasion at the office premises of District Commissioner, Sivasagar, was attended by Assam's Education and Guardian Minister of Sivasagar district, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, along with Sushanta Borgohain, MLA of the Thowra constituency. Other dignitaries present at the event included Sivasagar District Commissioner Aayush Garg, who played a significant role in facilitating the export process; Additional District Commissioner Geetalee Dowarah; Assistant Commissioner Nimashree Dauka; Deputy Director of Agriculture, Assam, Mala Sharma; Sivasagar District Agriculture Officer Asif Bora; Assistant Agriculture Directors Madhumita Devi and Amrit Saikia; as well as sub-divisional agriculture officers and members of the farmer producer companies.
Representatives from Kiega Exim Pvt. Ltd., including Akash Hazarika and Wasim Ullah, also attended the event, emphasizing their support for this international trade initiative.
