Assam: Final electoral roll 2025 with 2,48,61,979 voters published in state

Following directions from the Election Commission of India, the Election Department, Assam, on Monday published the final photo electoral roll 2025, with the qualifying date of January 1, 2025.

Guwahati: Following directions from the Election Commission of India, the Election Department, Assam, on Monday published the final photo electoral roll 2025, with the qualifying date of January 1, 2025. As per the final electoral roll 2025, the number of electors in Assam stands at 2,48,61,979.

The Election Department, Assam, had published the draft electoral roll 2025 on October 29, 2024, with a total of 2,46,28,673. The increase in voters in the final electoral roll has come to 2,33,306, which is an increase of nearly 1% over the draft roll.

Sources of the Election Department, Assam, stated that, of the total 2,48,61,979 voters, there are 1,24,17,622 men voters, 1,24,43,967 women voters, and 390 voters of the third gender. Significantly, there are more women voters than their male counterparts.

Sources further stated that the number of voters in the age group of 18-19 years is 3,90,372, voters in the age group 20-29 years are 66,50,604 in number, while those in the age group of 85-plus years number 1,23,300, as published in the final electoral roll.

According to the final electoral roll of 2025, the Dalgaon Assembly Constituency in the Darrang district has the highest number of 3,15,065 voters, followed by 3,04,160 voters in Mankachar in the South Salmara district and 3,01,664 voters in the Gauripur constituency in the Dhubri district. The lowest number of voters is in the Amri constituency in the West Karbi Anglong district, with 98,729 voters.

Notably, Majuli Assembly Constituency has a total of 1,43,531 voters; Dibrugarh has 1,94,376 voters; Jorhat has 1,48,549 voters; Sivasagar has 2,09,238 voters; Golaghat has 2,03,956 voters; Silchar has 2,19,619 voters; Bongaigaon has 1,70,065 voters; Barpeta has 1,71,878 voters; Nalbari has 1,97,933 voters; and Nagaon-Batadraba has a total number of 2,02,540 voters.
