MANGALDAI: As per the direction of the Election Commission of India (ECI), Darrang district administration on Monday has released the final voters list covering three assembly constituencies of Darang district namely Sipajhar, Mangaldai and Dalgaon with a base date of January 1, 2025. The list was formally released by District Commissioner Parag Kumar Kakaty in the presence of representatives of all recognized political parties and journalists at a meeting held on the occasion in the conference hall of the District Commissioner at Mangaldai. According to the electoral roll, the total number of voters in the district is 7 lakh 25 thousand 517. Out of these, 365,872 are male and 359,627 are female voters. As many as 9,108 new voters were added to the final list, while 4,291 voters were removed from the previous list. The total number of voters who have changed or corrected their place of residence is 6,661. The number of transgender voters is 18. There are 1,763 electors who are government employees. As per the constituency, Dalgaon has the highest number of voters registered in the state with 3.15 lakh and 65 voters. Sipajhar and Mangaldai assembly constituencies have a combined electorate of 28,535 and 291,917 respectively. The total number of registered voters increased by 27559 this year as compared to the final list of 2024. The number of voters in 2024 was 6.97 lakh 958. Additional District Commissioner (Election) Manas Saikia and Election Officer Nibedita Barthakur also attended the meeting.
