Assam government published Holiday list for 2021

GUWAHATI: The holiday list for the State government employees for the year 2021 has 36 holidays, 30 restricted holidays and two half-holidays. An employee is allowed to avail only two of the 30 restricted holidays.

According to the notification issued by the GAD (General Administration Department) on Friday, the two half-holidays are for Muharram and Lakshmi Puja. A half-holiday starts from 1 pm. Barring Kamrup(M) district, the deputy commissioners can declare a local holiday by taking local significance into account. In Kamrup (M) district, the deputy commissioner can declare two local holidays with approval from the Chief Minister. Apart from these, the GAD has been allowed to declare two additional holidays with approval from the Chief Minister, the notification added.
