Assam: High Court Chief Justices Appointed, Transferred

Five judges have been appointed as Chief Justices in as many high courts, including Ashutosh Kumar, the Acting CJ of Patna HC, who has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court.

Guwahati: Five judges have been appointed as Chief Justices in as many high courts, including Ashutosh Kumar, the Acting CJ of Patna HC, who has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court.

The other judges appointed as Chief Justices include Sanjeev Sachdeva, the Acting CJ of Madhya Pradesh, as CJ of Madhya Pradesh; Vibhu Bakhru, Judge (Delhi), as CJ of Karnataka; Vipul Manubhai Pancholi, Judge (Patna), as CJ of Patna; and Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Judge (Himachal Pradesh), who has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court.

Moreover, four chief justices have been transferred to other high courts. They are Manindra Mohan Shrivastava, transferred from Rajasthan to Madras HC; Aparesh Kumar Singh from Tripura to Telangana HC; M.S. Ramachandra Rao from Jharkhand to Tripura HC; and K.R. Shriram from Madras to Rajasthan HC.

Meanwhile, Justice Lanusungkum Jamir, the acting CJ, has been transferred from Gauhati HC to Calcutta HC, and Justice Suman Shyam has been transferred from Gauhati HC to Bombay HC.
