Assam: Justice Surana to preside over Foreigners’ Tribunals monitoring bench

Guwahati: The Gauhati High Court has nominated HC judge Justice K.R. Surana to preside over the Special Bench set up earlier to monitor and oversee the functioning of Foreigners’ Tribunals in Assam.

The notification was issued in supersession of the HC Registry’s earlier notification dated October 25, 2019, and in terms of the direction of the Supreme Court in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 562/2012. In the recent notification, it is stated that the Chief Justice has nominated Justice K.R. Surana, Judge, Gauhati High Court, to preside over the Special Bench to monitor and oversee the functioning of Foreigners’ Tribunals in Assam.
