GUWAHATI: The two-day Advantage Assam Summit witnessed the signing of MoUs on a whole lot of MoUs in diverse fields, including soft drinks, film city, hotels, hospitals, data centres, mining, explorations, setting up of universities, and whatnot.
Today, Assam Skill University and OIL signed two MoUs with ITE Education Services, Singapore for vocational training and skill development. These two are non-financial MoUs. The Department of Industries, Assam, signed a Rs 3,200-crore MoU with Star Cement to set up a cement clinker plant, a Rs 1500-crore MoU with Matheson Hydro Pvt. Ltd., a Rs 500-crore MoU with Global Health (Medanta), a Rs 275-crore MoU with Tamara Leisure Pvt. Ltd., a Rs 510-crore MoU with Varun Beverage Ltd., a Rs 300-crore MoU with Virinchi Ltd. to set up a 200-MW Data Centre, a Rs 200-crore MoU with Virinchi Ltd. to set up a speciality hospital, a Rs 700-crore MoU with Ultratech Cement, a Rs 400-crore MoU with Simba Logistics, a Rs 1000-crore MoU with Sacha Mining, a Rs 500-crore MoU with Kothari International Industry Ltd., a Rs 144-crore MoU with Yuan Development Private Ltd., a Rs 120-crore MoU with Ceramics Ltd., a Rs 480-crore MoU with Bailey Strong Cement, a Rs 100-crore MoU with Gitanjali National Devi Foundation to establish an international boarding school in Guwahati, NELCO Ltd and Yaskawa India Private Ltd signed a Rs 1500-crore MoU for skill development in government schools, a Rs 219-crore MoU with Social Action and Research Foundation to establish Swami Vivekananda University in Chirang, a non-financial MoU between the Education Department and the National Stock Exchange of India to empower Assam’s youth with financial literary and investor awareness.
