Guwahati: The Director of Secondary Education, Assam, Mamata Hojai, has issued a directive to all Inspectors of Schools across the state, outlining a set of mandatory guidelines to be followed by all secondary schools during the 2025-26 academic session.

As per the instructions discussed in a video conference held on May 19, 2025, schools are required to ensure strict compliance with measures like Mandatory Reporting Time: All teachers must report to their respective schools before 9:00 AM and leave as per the academic calendar. Their in-time and out-time must be accurately recorded through the Shiksha Setu app; Daily Student Attendance Monitoring: Class teachers will be personally responsible for recording daily student attendance, which must be verified by the school head; Non-Teaching Staff Duty Hours: Non-teaching staff must report before 10:00 AM and remain on duty until 4:30 PM. They are also expected to provide official reports whenever required; PGT Teachers' Involvement in High School Classes: All Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) must actively engage in teaching high school sections, and the school timetable should reflect this; Record Maintenance: School heads are accountable for ensuring compliance and must maintain hard copies of attendance and class engagement records for future reference.

The directive, issued under official memo number, aims to streamline school operations, ensure accountability among staff, and enhance the academic environment in Assam's secondary schools.
