Assam: Shiksha Setu Axom App Bags National Accolades

Guwahati: Assam’s innovative Shiksha Setu Axom app received national accolades, and Samagra Shiksha, Assam’s managing director, Dr Om Prakash, received the PM’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today.

The PM’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration was instituted to recognize the extraordinary and innovative work done by district organizations of central and state governments for the welfare of common citizens.

The PM’s award was presented on the occasion of the 17th Civil Services Day organized at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The award is given in different categories to the states.

Along with the recognition to Shiksha Setu app, Tinsukia district was also conferred with the PM’s Excellence Award for providing the benefit of schemes like Har Ghar Jal Yojana, Saksham Anganwadi, POSHAN 2.0, PM Awas Yojana, and PM Jana Arogya to 100% of beneficiaries.

Even though a section of teachers have been opposing the Shiksha Setu app, the online application today received national accolades.

Shiksha Setu Axom, under the Department of School Education, is a comprehensive digital platform with 360-degree information on schools, staff & students. It is designed to serve as a single source of information for day-to-day administrative operations. Also, as an enabler for the department to take timely and data-driven decisions for optimization of resources and improve overall performance.

Over 50 lakh students, teachers and staff are enrolled on the Shiksha Setu Axom app.
