Australia Partially Withdraws Travel Advisory for Assam

Australia has partially withdrawn its travel advisory for their citizens' visit to Assam, and Germany is going to follow suit.

GUWAHATI: Australia has partially withdrawn its travel advisory for their citizens' visit to Assam, and Germany is going to follow suit.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that this is indeed good news for Assam in the run-up to Advantage Assam 2.0, that Australia has partially withdrawn their country's travel advisory for their citizens visiting Assam.

"The Australian travel advisories for Assam visit has been withdrawn from the state, barring Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, and Charaideo districts," the Chief Minister said. He said that these districts are still considered disturbed areas under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act of 1958.

The Chief Minister said, "Talks are also going on with Germany to withdraw their travel advisory to Assam. I hope to get a positive outcome soon."
