Barpeta Police busted fake voter card racket

GUWAHATI: The Barpeta Police today busted a racket that provides fake voter cards to D (doubtful) voters. The police arrested three persons; and seized 262 voter cards, printing machines, computer sets etc., from their possession. Miscreants first formed an organization named D Voters Nagarik Mancha. The racket was issuing voter cards under the banner of the Mancha. The police conducted the operation today based on a complaint lodged by District Election Officer Mayurakshi Dutta. The arrested persons are Farukh Khan, Abdul Ali and Sahidul Islam. The police said that more people were involved in the racket.
