GUWAHATI: The opposition members created a ruckus over price rises and other issues during the Governor's speech in the Assam Assembly today. The Congress and the Raijor Dal staged walkouts, albeit separately. Barely five minutes after Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya started his speech, the opposition members stood and raised their protest. Their main issue was the rise in prices. They moved to the well with placards and shouted slogans for about ten minutes. The governor, however, kept delivering his speech.

The Congress MLAs protested vehemently and staged a noisy walkout.

Akhil Gogoi of the Raijor Dal stayed put in the house and kept raising his demands even as the Governor kept on delivering his speech. After protesting around 30 minutes, Akhil Gogoi and his party colleague Mehboob Muktar also staged a walkout.
