GUWAHATI/GOLAGHAT: Four writers from Assam brought laurels to the State on Wednesday by bagging Sahitya Akademi Awards in two separate categories.

Diganta Oza bagged the Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2022 (children's literature award) for his Assamese essay 'Dangor Manuhor Sadhu', while Dewbar Ramchiary bagged the same award for his Bodo novel 'Langwnani Bokhali Gotho'.

On the other hand, Pradyumna Kumar Gogoi bagged the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2022 (youth award) for his anthology of Assamese short stories 'Choki aru Annanya Galpa', Alangbar Muchahary bagged the same award for his anthology of Bodo short stories 'Gang Fujanay Mase Dau'.

Each of the awards comprises Rs 50,000 and a casket containing an engraved copper plate.

The awards for children's literature will be presented at a special function in New Delhi on November 14, while the date for the presentation of the youth awards is yet to be announced.
