GUWAHATI: Goalpara Police arrested a suspected jihadi from the Fatasil Ambari area in Guwahati on Tuesday night. Fatasil Ambari police helped the Goalpara police in the raid. Goalpara Police took the suspected jihadi, Amjad alias Ajmal Hussain (39), to Goalpara.
According to the police, Amjad is the in-charge of the Guwahati jihadi module. After coming in contact with the jihadi members of Barpeta, Amjad went to Bangladesh and joined the AQIS (Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent), the police said. The police recovered some AQIS literature and posters from his residence.
